Árbol de Navidad DIY / DIY Christmas tree

Hace ya unos días que nos invade el espíritu navideño y no queríamos dejar pasar esta oportunidad de enseñaros el árbol de navidad que nos propusimos hacer para decorar mi salón. La idea la sacamos de alguien muy ingenioso en internet (no encuentro el enlace, sorry) ¿Cómo explicároslo...? ¡¡¡Me encantaaaa!!! Me parece el árbol más bonito del mundo y la inversión ha sido mínima no, ¡minúscula! { A few days ago Christmas spirit has invaded us and we don´t want to miss this opportunity to show you the Christmas tree we've done (inspired on the internet, although I can´t find the link, sorry)  to decorate my living room. How do I explain it...? I loooove it! I think it´s the most beautiful tree in the world and  investment has been not minimal, but tiny! }

Está hecho con elementos totalmente naturales, excepto algún adornito para conseguir toques brillantes. Las ramas de la estructura son troncos de cerezo, más o menos finos, y la decoración, a base de pino, laurel, escaramujos, piñas, ramitas secas de lilo y unos pequeños frutos morados de un árbol cualquiera, le da ese aspecto tan fresco y natural. Y es relativamente fácil. { It is made with all-natural elements, except for some bright ornaments. The structure is made of not too thick branches of cherry tree, and the decoration, made of pine, laurel, rosehips, pine cones, lilac twigs and small purple fruits of any stray tree, gives it that fresh and natural look. And it's relatively easy to do. }

Lo mejor es hacer primero la estructura en la vertical, con cuerdas un poco gruesas, para calcular la longitud a la que va a ir cada rama (nosotros dejamos unos 15 o 20 cm. entre rama y rama). Tiramos una cuerda en el centro, y otras uniendo cada extremo de las ramas, para que no bascule mucho hacia los lados. Nosotros lo hicimos así: { The best way is to create first the structure in the vertical, with some thick ropes, to calculate the length to which each branch will separate to the other (we left about 15 or 20 cm. between branch and branch). We threw a rope in the center, and two others joining each end of the branches, to avoid excessive tilting. This is how we did it: }

Una vez hecha la estructura, sustituimos las cuerdas de los laterales por hilo de nylon para que no se viera y pareciera que está suspendido en el aire (os recomiendo que uséis un hilo bastante grueso, incluso sedal; el hilo fino da muy malos resultados porque se rompe solo por la tensión y hay que empalmar una y otra vez). { Once we made ​​the structure, we replaced the strings on the sides by nylon thread so they do not see and it looks like it is suspended in the air (I recommend you to use a fairly thick thread, even fishing line; the fine thread gives very poor results because it brokes because of the strain and it must be spliced ​​once and again). }

La idea original era que cada rama colgara sin que se viera ninguna estructura que las uniera, pero como nuestro hilo de nylon era muy poco resistente (del que viene en los kit de costura), tuvimos que unirlas con una cuerda finita por el centro. Cuando terminamos vimos que nos gustaba el resultado, porque no se aprecia demasiado y le da cohesión al conjunto, así que hemos decidido dejarla (al menos de momento hasta que compremos un hilo fuerte). { The original idea was that each branch hung without any visible structure joining them, but since our nylon thread was very thin (the one which comes in the sewing kit), we had to join the branches with a thin string in the middle. When we finished, the result was not so bad, because it´s not very visible and gives cohesion to the set, so we decided to leave it (at least for now, until we buy a stronger thread). }

La estrella que lo corona está hecha también con unos palitos finos unidos con la misma cuerda y decorados con ramas secas y pino. { The star on the top is also made with thin sticks joined with the string and decorated with twigs and pine. }

Y de noche luce como un auténtico árbol de cuento de navidad... ¿no os parece? { And at night it looks like as an true tree of a Christmas tale... don´t you think? }

Además, es extremadamente cómodo de recoger y guardar porque se cierra como un acordeón, y ocupa el poco espacio que ocupan un puñadito de ramas. Ideal para casas pequeñas y con poco espacio de almacenamiento ¡hasta la siguiente navidad!
